System Requirements: To participate in both the lectures and labs for this course, the student workstation must meet the following hardware requirements:

  • Minimum of 256 MB of memory
  • Windows 98 or higher
  • Headset with microphone, or separate microphone and speakers
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
  • 128-bit encryption (Versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6.0 and Windows 98, NT 4.0, and 2000 must have the High Encryption Packs installed)
  • Citrix ICA Client (Installed when you access e-lab during class)
  • High speed internet (56K bps or higher)

 

NOTE: The Citrix application (web client or full package) requires access to port 443 (https). Please ensure personal and corporate firewalls have this port open.

  • Describe the general deployment architecture
  • Describe how to use Tivoli Common Reporting to produce reports.
  • Detail current resources to explore more information.

Unit 2

  • Describe how to obtain ready-to-use Cognos reports for use with Tivoli Common Reporting.
  • Navigate the user interface to locate, submit, schedule, e-mail, and print reports.
  • Import Cognos report packages using Tivoli Common Reporting.

Unit 3 Report Studio basics

  • Understand how to interpret a Cognos data model.
  • Explore the Cognos Report Studio interface.
  • Create a basic list and chart report.
  • Add filter and prompt capability.
  • Add a graphic.
  • Understand where to find more resources.

Unit 4 Configuring data sources for Tivoli Common Reporting

  • Define a data source.
  • Create a new data source to access IBM DB2 UDB.
  • Create a data source to access Oracle databases
  • Configure LDAP for user authentication

This intermediate course is for managers, technicians, or operators who need to understand Tivoli Common Reporting and how to produce reports.
